Wedged between Tong Mi and Mong Kok, Prince Edward is a small district in the northern region of Hong Kong. It was named after the Duke of Windsor following his visit to Hong Kong in 1922 and is home to shopping malls, recreational facilities and an open-air market dedicated to flowers.
Things to do in Prince Edward
East of Prince Edward is the Mong Kok Flower Market, which is packed with vendors selling bouquets, potted plants and bulbs. Comprising several streets, this open-air market is one of the most colourful destinations in Hong Kong. It’s a short walk from the Goldfish Market where pet fish are sold and lies adjacent to the Yuen Po Street Bird Garden.
For a retail fix, head to MOKO, a seven-floor shopping mall home to brand-name retailers and designer stores selling cosmetics, clothing and watches. If you’re travelling with kids, they can let loose at MOKO Park before feasting on Asian specialties or international favourites at the mall’s wide choice of eateries. The on-site cinema screens all the latest Hollywood blockbusters and IMAX films.
On the northern edge of Prince Edward is Fa Hui Park, a sprawling green space where you’ll find sporting facilities, a children’s playground and a 1,100-square metre community garden. You can stretch your legs along one of the tree-lined walking trails, run around on the soccer field or grab drinks and snacks at the on-site kiosk.
