Positioned in Victoria Harbour, Tsing Yi is an island within Hong Kong’s sprawling urban area. Land reclamation has seen it expand dramatically in recent years, with towering apartments, shopping malls and green spaces all squeezed onto its shores.
Things to do in Tsing Yi
Take in the views across Victoria Harbour from Tsing Yi Promenade where locals like to practice t’ai chi. It’s a short walk from Tsing Yi Park where you can stroll along the leafy walking trails backed by soaring skyscrapers.
Need some retail therapy? Head to the four-storey mall, Maritime Square, designed around a nautical theme. It’s packed with fashion retailers and appliance stores, together with cinemas and an international food court.
Tsing Yi is a popular base for visiting Hong Kong Disneyland, as well as the amusement park of Noah’s Ark on neighbouring Ma Wan Island. It boasts an immense replica of Noah's Ark, together with family-friendly attractions showcasing the cultural history of Hong Kong.
Getting there
Tsing Yi is a major transportation hub in Hong Kong, connected by eight different bridges and two harbours. Tsing Yi Station serves the Airport Express line, with an extensive bus network accessing all corners of Hong Kong.
