The ancient village of Nikiti cascades down a hillside to the Aegean Sea. A gold-sand beach stretches along the shoreline and is dotted with colourful umbrellas and sunbeds. Just steps from the sand is a breezy promenade lined with cafes and restaurants. Score a table on one of the beachfront patios and enjoy ocean-fresh seafood and cocktails with a view.
Walking around the village, you’ll be charmed by centuries-old stone houses and buildings. The one-hour walk up to Saint Nikitas Church rewards you with sweeping views over the village, the Aegean Sea and the Chalkidiki Peninsula. Nestled in the hillsides, the church was built in the 1800s and features beautiful stonework.
Crystalline water and vibrant marine life have put Nikiti on the radar as a beginner-friendly diving destination. At Castri Beach, you can explore the ruins of an ancient Greek city. Many local dive schools will take you to Kalogria Beach, a picturesque bay with calm water and lots of colourful fish.
