Occupying a thin strip of land between Lake Siutghiol and the Black Sea, Mamaia is one of Romania’s most popular beach resorts. It lies north of Constanța's city centre and explodes with visitors in the summer months thanks to its beaches, restaurants and nightlife.
Spend your days relaxing on the soft sands of Mamaia where you’ll find plenty of umbrellas and sun loungers for rent. When it’s time to eat, you can grab kebabs from Dabo Doner, dine alfresco at Terasa Casa Românească or feast on pizzas at the Havana Restaurant & Bar. After dark, settle in with a cocktail at one of Mamaia’s beachfront lounge bars.
If you’re travelling with kids, don’t miss a visit to Aqua Magic Mamaia, a family-friendly water park packed with slides, swimming pools and play areas. In addition to hosting live music and shows throughout the summer months, the park also features eateries selling snacks, ice-creams and drinks.
Getting there
Mamaia is a 20-minute drive from the centre of Constanța and 30 minutes from Mihail Kogălniceanu International Airport, which has flights to destinations across Europe. Buses connect from Constanța to Mamaia while the Telegondola Mamaia offers elevated views across the town.
