Wedged between Lake Techirghiol and the Black Sea, Eforie Nord is a coastal resort town south of Constanța. It’s fringed by a wide sandy beach that provides a setting for summer recreation, while the lake’s healing mud and treatment centres make it a popular spa destination.
Things to do in Eforie Nord
Spend your days relaxing on the sands of Plaja Eforie Nord, an expansive beach dotted with umbrellas and sun loungers that are available for rent. You can swim in the refreshing waters of the Black Sea or watch the action from Restaurant Sailors, which specialises in seafood dishes. Diving courses and excursions are offered at the nearby Nemo Diving Center.
A short stroll from Plaja Eforie Nord is the Eforie Aqua Park, where you’ll find several swimming pools and water slides that appeal to all ages. You can get your adrenaline pumping on the Black Hole and Kamikaze slides, float down the Rapid River on an inner tube or join one of the aerobics classes held in the Adult Pool.
Sprawling south of Eforie Nord is Lake Techirghiol, which is associated with the legend of Tekir, an elderly man who discovered the healing benefits of its mud by accident. In addition to covering yourself in mud, you can visit the statue of Tekir and his donkey in the lakeside town of Techirghiol, which is also home to the Monastère Sainte Marie and its 17th-century Transylvanian church.
