Kuala Lumpur Sentral, also referred to as KL Sentral, is a combination transportation hub located in Brickfields of the city Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The complex services the main railway station of Kuala Lumpur and remains the largest station in all of the country. Its valuable transportation assets are balanced by an assortment of tourism features.
KL Sentral contains a vast array of entertainment, industrial, and residential areas contributing to its multipurpose attraction. Lot G within KL Sentral is designed as the retail hotspot for tourists featuring a massive shopping complex and includes NU Sentral a supplementary entertainment zone. The reigning transit portion of Stesen Sentral contains retail, food and beverage offerings in addition to intermodal travel.
Nearly all of Kuala Lumpur’s railway lines route through KL Sentral including the Express Rail Link for airport transit, KTM Komuter train for commuting, intercity trains, and the RapidKL Rail. In addition, the KL City Air Terminal acts as a subsidiary of the Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
The Kuala Lumpur Sentral district has been subdivided into fourteen parcels in order to representatively accommodate the different facets of the original engineering plan. Architect Kisho Kurokawa, who also designed the Kuala Lumpur International Airport, successfully constructed the blueprint for the multipurpose operation.
