Fed by a gently flowing stream, Jiaosi Hot Spring is an area of tranquil hot springs in Taiwan’s north-east Yilan County. It’s set across two facilities - Tangweigou Hot Spring Park in the centre of Jiaosi and Jiaosi Hot Spring Park Forest Furo in the north-east of town.
At Tangweigou Hot Spring Park, you can soak your feet in one of the peaceful ponds while having your toes nibbled by the resident fish. There are numerous food stalls clustered in the garden surrounding the springs that sell a variety of local specialties and unique green algae beer.
Foot-soaking tubs connected via a network of wooden paths are featured at Jiaoxi Hot Spring Park Forest Furo, together with an enticingly warm swimming pool. It’s an ideal place to relax after a day spent visiting the picturesque Wufengqi Waterfall or hiking to the three-tiered Yuemeikeng Waterfall.

The Jiaosi Hot Spring is a 20-minute drive from Yilan and an hour from New Taipei City. Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport is 1.5 hours away while Jiaoxi railway station is 10 minutes’ walk from the springs. Buses stop at nearby Jiaoxi Tourist Service Center.
