Located in Hershey, the birthplace of the Hershey Chocolate Company, Hersheypark is a family-oriented theme park founded by the creator of Hershey Chocolates, Milton Hershey. Since opening in 1906, the amusement park has grown into one of the most popular attractions in Pennsylvania and features 45 hectares of roller coasters, thrill rides, family rides and water attractions.
Get your blood pumping on Fahrenheit, Great Bear, Sooper Dooper Looper and Wildcat roller coasters before taking it easy on the Carrousel, Frontier Flyers or Wave Swinger. Need to cool off? Enjoy the water park’s twisting water slides, a lazy river, wave pool and Waverider surfing.
You’ll find ample on-site dining, from classic American fast food to grill restaurants and snack stands. Visit during Christmas to see the festive shows and don’t forget to meet the friendly Hershey characters. Kids will also enjoy the various carnival games and exploring the on-site ZooAmerica, home to over 200 animals, including black bears and mountain lions.
Getting there
Hersheypark is just under two hours’ drive from Philadelphia, where you can fly into Philadelphia International Airport and rent a car. You can also catch buses from the nearby town of Harrisburg in about two hours.
