Things to do in Golfe-Juan
Top up your tan on Plage du Soleil, a golden sand beach on the western end of the bay. Roll out your towel on the sand or rent a sun lounger and parasol for the day. Cafes dot the sand and serve delicious food and cocktails.
Walk along the breezy promenade to the yacht-filled marina, where you’ll find lively waterfront restaurants. Stroll into the town centre to find more cafes, bistros and wine bars. Try local specialties from the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, including “bouillabaisse” fish stew and “cod brandade” pate.
Golfe-Juan is famous as the point where Napoleon landed after escaping exile. The historic Route Napoleon starts in Golfe-Juan and winds through the French Alps. Stop at historic plaques and monuments along the way to learn more about the French emperor and his conquests. You’ll see plenty of Napoleon memorabilia sold at souvenir shops in Golfe-Juan. Visit in March to see the annual re-enactment of his landing.
Day trip to Vallauris and discover the town’s long history of arts and crafts. The town is famous for pottery and dotted with studios where you can buy hand-painted homewares. Visit the pottery museum to admire ceramics from throughout the centuries.
Stretch your legs in Parc Du Paradou. Trails snake through the park and take you through sun-dappled eucalyptus forests. Look for woodpeckers perched in the highest branches. From the hilltop lookouts, you’ll get spectacular views of the Mediterranean Sea.
Getting around Golfe-Juan
Golfe-Juan is pedestrian-friendly and easy to get around on foot. The resort is 15 minutes from Cannes by car or train. Cannes-Mandelieu Airport is a 30-minute drive away.
