Follow the steep wooden staircase from the waterfront up to Vetteberget, a clifftop lookout with sweeping views over the town and surrounding islands. The plateau is laced with scenic trails that showcase even more beautiful scenery.
Veddö Nature Reserve occupies a pristine peninsula fringed by sandy beaches and rocky coves. Explore the scenic walking trail, stopping to cool off at the beach and admire views of the Fjällbacka archipelago. Parts of the trail include a wooden boardwalk that takes you over the rocky shoreline.
Fjallbacka is dotted with cosy taverns and restaurants where you can enjoy traditional Swedish cuisine. The best offer sun-drenched outdoor terraces overlooking the North Sea. Seafood is a local specialty and most menus feature “glasmästarsill” pickled herring and “inkokt lax” poached salmon served with potatoes, mayonnaise, fresh dill and lemon slices.
