The busiest train station in Sweden, Stockholm Central Station is situated in the Norrmalm district near historic Gamla Stan. It’s a hub for commuter trains across the city and beyond and offers direct services to Stockholm Arlanda Airport.
Admire the elegant architecture, which was designed by Adolf Edelsvard, with a statue of Nils Ericson (he engineered the country’s railway system) standing proudly outside. The interior is packed with retail shops, restaurants, currency exchange counters and tourist information services.
Check the monitors to see which platform your train is departing from, as high-speed services connect to Malmö, Copenhagen and Göteborg. If you need to get some work done while waiting for your train, head to the No18 Grand Central co-working space for work desks, printers and Wi-Fi.
Getting there
Stockholm Central Station is directly connected to the city’s Tunnelbana metro system and buses stop outside the entrance. Stockholm Arlanda Airport can be accessed by the Arlanda Express train or airport link bus services from the station.
