Founded by the American missionary Mary Scranton in 1886 with just a single student, Ewha Woman's University is the world’s largest female educational institute and one of the most prestigious universities in Asia. The university was named after the pear blossoms that covered the original campus and has a firm focus on each student as a distinct individual.
Wander around the university grounds and visit the Ewha Welcome Centre to learn about the history, traditions, and vision of the school. The History Wall and Ewha Video retrace the journey of the university, from its humble beginnings to its prominent position in present-day society.
To enrich your experience, take a guided tour of the campus. Those with an interest in learning more about Korean culture can visit the Ewha Woman's University Museum to see folk art, traditional woodwork, and ceramics.
