Draga Bascanska is a laid-back village on the sun-drenched island of Krk. Home to just a handful of historic buildings and churches, the village invites you to relax, unwind and enjoy the simplicity of Croatian island life.
Enjoy scenic walks through the picturesque Baška Valley. Trails wind through the valley and take you past vineyards, olive groves and flower-filled meadows. Stop to pick wild Mediterranean herbs and snap photos of the postcard-perfect landscapes.
Draga Bascanska offers easy access to the pristine beaches that surround Krk. Swim, sunbathe and snorkel at Vela Plaza Baska, a long stretch of white-pebble sand fringed by crystalline water. Vela Luka is a hidden gem accessed by a rocky trail or water taxi. Your reward is a secluded beach set on a sheltered inlet.
Indulge in local cuisine at family-run tavernas, where fresh Adriatic seafood and locally produced olive oil, goat cheese and honey take centre stage. Try traditional dishes from Krk like “surlice" pasta served with wild asparagus, roasted lamb and octopus cooked in bell-shaped “peka" pots. Local wines pair perfectly with island specialties like “pršut" prosciutto and “skuta" cottage cheese.
