Novi Vinodolski is a sun-drenched resort town set on the Adriatic Sea. The resort enjoys a mild Mediterranean climate and is drenched in around 2,500 hours of sunshine a year, making it popular with holidaymakers in search of sun, sand and saltwater.
Things to do in Novi Vinodolski
The calm, crystal-clear water makes the beaches of Novi Vinodolski some of the best on the Adriatic coast. The main beach is a short stroll from the town centre and is fringed by silver pebbles. Rent a sunlounger for a few hours and make a splash with water sports like jet skiing and parasailing. For a quieter scene, escape to one of the pristine bays dotted along Kvarner Bay.
Strolling around the cobblestone streets of the Old Town is one of the best ways to enjoy Novi Vinodolski. It’s filled with picturesque Mediterranean buildings with whitewashed facades and red-tile roofs.
Boat tours depart from the marina and whisk you to the nearby island of Krk. Spend the day exploring clifftop villages and swimming in crystalline bays. Alternatively, rent a kayak or stand-up paddleboard and enjoy a leisurely paddle to San Marino Island. The tiny island is set just offshore and is anchored by a centuries-old Gothic church.
Venture inland to tour the wineries of the Vinodol Valley. Fertile soil and a sunny climate make the valley one of the top wine-producing regions in Croatia. In addition to fresh and zesty Žlahtina, you can sip award-winning Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon. Plitvice Lakes National Park is another popular day trip and will dazzle you with turquoise-coloured pools and cascading waterfalls.
