Sprawling south-west of Daegu, Dalseo-gu is a largely residential district in South Korea. It’s famed for its European-themed amusement park and leafy green spaces, as well as hosting the KeiMyung Arts Center where cultural performances are held.
Things to do in Dalseo-gu
One of Dalseo-gu’s most popular attractions is E-World, a family-friendly theme park established around the Woobang Tower. It’s renowned for its European-themed rides, performance halls and floral displays and features plenty of restaurants where you can dine throughout the day. For panoramic views across Daegu, head to the observation platform or revolving restaurant of the E-World 83 Tower.
Nestled at the foot of Mount Aspen is the Wolgok History Museum, which centres around a heritage residence and monument to a local military commander. Its exhibits explore traditional farming and weaving in the region and showcase historic artefacts as well as old family portraits. The Wolgok History Museum is surrounded by a peaceful park that encompasses a small bamboo forest and ignites with cherry blossoms in the spring.
Another green space not to miss in Dalseo-gu is the Moonlight Waterside Park, which overlooks a tranquil lake in the district’s south. It’s a popular spot for locals to walk and run, with several cafes where you can grab your morning coffee. Paved trails and boardwalks meander along the water’s edge and offer scenic views of the surrounding mountains.
Getting around Dalseo-gu
Dalseo-gu is around 45 minutes by train from Daegu Station and just over an hour from Daegu International Airport, which has flights to destinations across Asia. Subway stations are dotted throughout the district, with trains connecting along Line 1 and 2 of the Daegu Metro. Buses also travel throughout Dalseo-gu.
