Comprising a family-friendly theme park and a zoo, Chessington World of Adventures was established in 1931 in the Greater London area. It’s themed around various world cultures and packed with rides designed for all ages, as well as housing more than 1,000 animals from across the globe.
Take a step back in time and explore the old English market town of Adventure Point, where Tudor and Georgian-style buildings house several theme park eateries. Jump aboard the mine train-style Scorpion Express roller coaster in the Mexicana area, then brave the Black Buccaneer swinging pirate ship of Pirates’ Cove.
You can experience the thrill of the Tiger Rock log flume or embark on The Gruffalo River Ride Adventure, then head to the Land of the Dragons that’s designed specifically for younger kids. The Chessington World of Adventures is also home to ZUFARI, a safari truck adventure that offers up-close sightings of giraffes, Grevy’s zebras and white rhinos.
Getting there
The Chessington World of Adventures is just five minutes’ walk from the Chessington South railway station, which has regular train connections to London. London Heathrow Airport is 30 minutes’ drive from the amusement park.
