Home to the headquarters of several K-pop management companies, Cheongdam-dong is an affluent neighbourhood within Seoul’s Gangnam District. Cheongdam Fashion Street is lined with luxury brand stores, art galleries and famous restaurants, while leafy walking trails wind their way through Cheongdam Park.
Things to do in Cheongdam-dong
Fashionistas can head directly to 10 Corso Como, the Seoul branch of the famous Milan-based fashion store. After shopping for unique clothing, accessories and furnishings, you can dine on tiramisu at the on-site cafe. Opposite is the upmarket Galleria Department Store, as well as a Cartier branch whose facade is inspired by traditional Bojagi wrapping cloth. K-Star Road carves through this bustling shopping district and is dotted with sculptural bears dedicated to Korean pop stars.
Travelling with kids? Don’t miss a visit to the Figure Museum where you’ll find an impressive collection of action figures and toys from locally loved movies, comics and anime. It features several exhibition halls dedicated to superheroes and animations, as well as one where limited-edition figures are displayed. Korean toys and action figures are available for purchase at the museum’s gift shop.
You can escape Seoul’s hustle and bustle in Cheongdam Park, a wooded oasis traversed by paved walking trails. Visit in the morning to experience the buzz of locals exercising or let the kids run loose in the children’s playground. If you’re feeling active, you can take advantage of the park’s badminton, basketball and tennis courts.
