Located within the city fringes of Chicago, the charming village of Bolingbrook rests between DuPage River and Des Plaines River. The town is surrounded by green spaces perfect for family picnics and outdoor enthusiasts looking for hiking, riding, and fishing.
Nature lovers can follow several trails through a natural bird habitat at Springbrook Prairie Forest Preserve, while keen anglers can fish at Waterfall Glen Forest Preserve or at Hidden Lakes Historic Trout Farm. After an action-filled day, refuel your engine at one of the cafes or restaurants at The Promenade Bolingbrook, an outdoor shopping mall.
If you’ve got kids in tow, pack a picnic and treat them to a day of water slides and spray pools at Pelican Harbor Indoor/Outdoor Aquatic Park, which has plenty of fun events, such as “Swim Like a Mermaid” and “School’s Out Teen Only Swim”. During the winter, keep the family entertained at Rocket Ice Skating Rink or see a concert at Bolingbroke’s Performing Arts Centre.
