Individual markets, known as souqs, are the heart of daily life in the UAE. Under one kilometre from Al Qasimia, the Sharjah Central Souq, often called the “Blue Souq”, is home to a myriad of small shops hawking everything from pashmina shawls to jewellery, international clothing and traditional Arabic crafts. Set aside some time for exploring smaller markets, such as the Sharjah Gold Souq, Silver Market and Fish Market.
Families can find plenty to do at the Mega Mall Sharjah, an entertainment centre with a multi-screen cinema and indoor family theme park. It’s also home to several Western-style restaurants and coffee shops.
Opposite the mall, Al Mahatta Museum focuses on the history of regional aviation, but is also part of a larger arts complex giving access to the Archeological, Science and Art museums. In a range of three kilometres, you can explore Sharjah Heritage Museum and the Museum of Islamic Civilization.
Experience the outdoor ambience of Sharjah at Al Majaz Waterfront. You can take a scenic boat ride, let the little ones go wild at the splash park and sample local cuisine at the seaside cafes and snack stands. As the sun sets, grab a spot near Sharjah Fountain in time for the nightly laser and light show, where spurting water columns are coordinated with music.
Getting around Al Qasimia

Air-conditioned coaches can transfer you to the Sharjah International Airport, and taxis are a widely used throughout the city.
