A former railway track from Padstow to Bodmin, the Camel Trail runs through Wadebridge where you can go cycling, jogging, nature watching or horseback riding. Afterwards, relax at the Daymer Bay or Lundy Bay beaches for spectacular sunset views across the water.

Enjoy a day of wine tasting at Trevibban Mill Vineyard & Orchard, then pick up wool gifts made from the farm’s own sheep. At Porteath Bee Centre, kids can participate in a living honey bee exhibition, watch educational videos and sample fresh Cornish honey. Take a break at the centre’s small café for tea and pastries with Devon cream.

Camel Creek Adventure Park showcases country living with live animal exhibits and the chance to feed and pet piglets, ponies and sheep. The fun includes old-fashioned theme-park rides, pony rides and trampolines. Get to know dozens of predatory birds at the Cornish Birds of Prey Centre, along with parrots, kookaburras, ducks and macaws.

Drive 10 minutes to the historic Georgian-style Pencarrow House and Gardens, home to camellias, rhododendrons, blue hydrangeas and endless conifer groves along the Carriage Drive. You’ll also find priceless collections of porcelain, art and furniture, as well as a wishing well, grotto, lake and cave.
