Things to do in Vodice
Crystal-clear water and an arc of golden sand have earned Plava Plaža Beach Blue Flag status. The beach is lined with al fresco cafes and restaurants where you can enjoy lunch with a view. Srima Beach is another Blue Flag gem, with shingle sand, crystalline water and beach umbrellas and sun loungers to rent.
In the Old Town, the Parish Church of St. Cross recalls the resort’s ancient past. Admire the beautiful Dalmatian Baroque facade and evocative altarpieces painted by Eugenio Moretti Varese. The Church of St. Cross dates back to the 15th century and moonlights as a venue for local art exhibitions. Walk up Okit Hill to visit the Church of Our Lady of Carmel and enjoy sweeping views over the town and the shimmering Adriatic Sea.
Krka National Park is a popular day trip from Vodice, with seven postcard-perfect waterfalls to discover. Fed by the Krka River, the falls cascade down rocky cliffs and into emerald-green pools. Stop for lunch in Skradin, a romantic town with cobbled streets and brightly painted houses.
From colourful fruits and vegetables to fresh-baked bread and pastries, Vodice Market sells the finest local produce. It’s a great place to stock up on fresh food and shop for unique souvenirs. Head to local restaurants to enjoy classic Dalmatian dishes like squid ink risotto and “brudet” fish stew.
