Tekirova is a laid-back beach resort on the Turquoise Coast. In addition to sun and sand, Tekirova is an excellent base to visit the ancient city of Phaselis, ride the Olympos Teleferik cable car and hike in one of the most beautiful national parks in Turkey.
Things to do in Tekirova
Tekirova Beach is framed by the lush coastal forests and mountains of Beydağları Sahil National Park. Sunbeds and umbrellas dot the sand and give the beach a postcard-perfect feel. Just offshore are a trio of deserted islands where you can snorkel and learn to scuba dive.
Stretch your legs and take in the views on a day hike along the famous Lycian Way footpath. The stretch between Tekirova and Çukur Yayla is particularly scenic, with the trail winding through the pine forests and taking you past secret beaches. Stop to swim and enjoy lunch on your private patch of sand.
Olympos Teleferik whisks you up a 2,365-metre-high mountain and treats you to some of the best views in Turkey. On the 10-minute ride to the summit, you’ll enjoy spectacular views over Beydağları Sahil National Park and the shimmering Mediterranean Sea. For the ultimate thrill, take to the skies on a paragliding flight. Several waymarked trails start at the summit and make it easy to explore the dramatic mountain landscapes.
The ancient city of Phaselis sprawls across a series of bays, beaches and hills. Walk around the ancient Lycian port city before cooling off with a swim in the Mediterranean. There are plenty of shady spots where you can enjoy a picnic and escape the sunshine.
