Southeast University sits proudly in the city of Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, China. One of the oldest universities in the country, it was also the first co-educational university in China. There are three main campuses, Sipailou Campus and Dingjiaqiao campus in Nanjing city, and Jiulonghu campus in the suburbs. The main campuses of Southeast University can be reached via car, bicycle, bus or metro. The suburban campus of Jiulonghu is easily accessed from Nanjing South Metro Station. Sipailou and Dingjiaqiao can be reached from Nanjing South Railway Station. Shuttle buses operate from the airport to all campuses throughout the city. There is also the option to travel by taxi.
South East University is said to be located on the site of The Imperial Nanjing School dating to CE 258 in the Three Kingdoms period. The modern college was established in 1902 and named Sanjiang Normal College. In 1921, it became National Southeast University and rose to become the nation’s flagship school. The university gained its name of Southeast University in 1988. Today, it is a world-renowned technological institute with 16,000 undergraduate students and 10,000 graduate students spanning 30 schools and faculty departments.
