Established in the 12th century as a small village, Rosny-sous-Bois is a vibrant suburb in the east of Paris. It is renowned for its large-scale shopping and is dotted with parks where locals come to relax, exercise and be entertained.
Things to do in Rosny-sous-Bois
For a retail fix, head to the Westfield Rosny 2, a large shopping mall home to international brand stores, fast-food eateries and a multi-screen cinema complex. You can browse the latest fashions at Hugo Boss and H&M, admire the watches at Tempka or shop for toys at La Grande Récré. When it’s time to eat, you’ll find everything from burgers to sushi and traditional French pastries.
You can escape the hustle and bustle at Parc Jean Decesari, an enchanting green space on a former gypsum quarry. In addition to its leafy walking trails, there are more than 1,000 vines growing Chardonnay, Sauvignon and Pinot Noir grapes. In the warmer months, live music concerts and cultural events are held at the park’s open-air theatre.
On the western edge of the commune is the Daily Golf Rosny-sous-Bois, which comprises a 9-hole course and a large practice area. Directly south is Parc Montreau, where you’ll find a fragrant rose garden, a green maze and a petanque court. You can enjoy a run around on the soccer pitch, take advantage of the fitness trail or cast a fishing line into the small pond to see what’s biting.
