Preah Vihear Temple is one the Khemar Kingdom’s most stunning creations, offering endless views across lowland Cambodia from atop a 550-meter-high ridge in the Dangrek Mountains. With the most spectacular setting of all the Angkor temples, Preah Vihear bears a beautiful mix of architectural styles due to its successive modifications.
While Preah Vihear Temple can be explored with an audio guide, one of the best ways to discover the historical and religious significance of the temple is on a fully-guided day tour. Learn why the temple was uniquely constructed along a north-south axis rather than a conventional plan orientated towards the east.
On your return journey, stop by the Eco-Global Museum to gain a deeper understanding of this Heritage-listed site. See important archaeological finds uncovered at Preah Vihear alongside traditional dress, jewelry, arts and crafts showcasing the culture of the site’s indigenous Kuoy community.
