Servicing both domestic and international flights, the Perth Airport is Western Australia’s largest transport hub. It falls within the City of Swan boundaries, which means it’s just a stone’s throw from attractions like the heritage town of Guilford, the Perth Hills and the Swan Valley Food and Wine Trail.
For business travellers or those with long layovers, staying at one of Perth’s airport hotels is a great option. They eliminate the hassle of travelling into the city and are much cheaper than their CBD counterparts.
Perth Airport is well linked to the city by a network of roads and highways, with the drive to the CBD taking around 25-minutes. Some city hotels offer a private charter bus service, with local Transperth buses also ferrying passengers to Perth City, Kings Park, Elizabeth Quay Bus Station and beyond. Depending on connections, the journey can take anywhere from 40-minutes to upwards of an hour.
For an up-close and personal experience with the planes that cruise in and out of Perth Airport on a daily basis, the viewing platforms are a great vantage point. The T1 International Terminal is home to a Level 3 Observation Deck, while nearby Dunreath Drive features a public viewing area complete with a Boeing 747 shaped shelter, as well as information about the history of aviation.
