The Nong Nooch Tropical Botanical Garden is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Thailand, located in Pattaya City of the Chonburi Province 20 kilometres south of the city centre. It encompasses 2.4 square kilometres of perfectly manicured visual beauty featuring different themes as well as cultural exhibitions and live entertainment. Nong Nooch is recognised as one of the top ten botanical gardens in the world.
The garden is divided into unique cultural factions spanning historical periods including the Stonehenge Garden, French Garden and European Garden. There are also flora-centric areas as well, such as the Cactus and Succulent Garden and Orchid display. In addition to visual entities, the Nong Nooch Tropical Botanical Garden hosts many popular demonstrations and shows highlighted by an elephant display, small zoo and martial arts performances. Other activities include swimming, riding in paddle boats and cycling.
Transit to the location is serviced by taxis, minibuses, motorbikes and private accommodation shuttles routing from Pattaya. Bicycles are available for rent and are the most efficient form of transportation through the garden grounds.
The Nong Nooch Tropical Botanical Garden was established by Pisit and Nongnooch Tansacha as a wildlife conservation mission in 1954 and officially opened to the public as a garden display in 1980. The location boasts a high concentration of ancient Cycads encompassing species from Southeast Asia, Tropical America and Central Africa.
