Famed for its blissful beaches, Nha Trang is a bustling coastal city in the southern Vietnamese province of Khanh Hoa. It was established by the French colonial government in the 1920s and has grown into a popular resort, with its city centre clustered with seafood restaurants and shopping malls.
Things to do in Nha Trang City Centre
On the edge of Nha Trang City Centre is Po Nagar, a collection of four Cham towers built between the 7th and 12th centuries. They rise atop a granite knoll on the north bank of the Cai River, with the site still an active place of worship today. Admire the pyramidal roof of the 28-metre-high North Tower and see the linga within the Central Tower’s main chamber.
Stretching the length of the city centre is Nha Trang Beach, where you can spend your days swimming in the South China Sea. Backing the beach are several green spaces and parks, as well as beach clubs and restaurants serving drinks and snacks. Don’t miss the Agarwood Tower, a lotus-inspired building that is beautifully illuminated at night.
Architecture enthusiasts can visit Nha Trang Mountain Church, which was constructed in the 1920s in a Gothic Revival style. It’s renowned for its stained-glass windows depicting Joan of Arc and John Vianney, as well as scenes from the life of Jesus Christ. Admire its stone-built arches and soaring clock tower, which can be seen from many parts of Nha Trang City Centre.
