About National Dinosaur Museum

Forming part of Gold Creek Village, the National Dinosaur Museum showcases our Earth’s dynamic history and the age of the dinosaurs. It features a number of full skeletons and life-size dinosaur models, as well as animatronic dinosaurs and a fascinating collection of fossils.

Join a guided tour of the National Dinosaur Museum with one of their enthusiastic staff to see the biggest permanent collection of interactive dinosaurs in Australia. Get up close to fossils dating back 700 million years, then learn about our prehistoric past while admiring the reconstructed environments.

Stroll through the Dinosaur Garden to see life-like fibreglass models, including “Stan”, the museum’s largest dinosaur at 20 metres long. Duck into the shop, which not only sells dinosaur-themed gifts and natural history books, but also has one of the largest collections of crystals, minerals and gemstones in Australia.

Getting there

The National Dinosaur Museum is located in the suburb of Nicholls, around 20 minutes’ drive from the centre of Canberra. The number 24 bus stops outside the entrance to the museum, while Canberra Airport is 25 minutes’ drive away.
