Clustered with cafes, restaurants and bazaars, Naama Bay is the main tourism hub in Sharm El-Sheikh. It overlooks a natural bay that is dotted with thatched beach umbrellas and sun loungers, which are positioned just steps from the warm waters of the Red Sea.
Things to do in Naama Bay
If you’re interested in the life and legacy of Egypt’s pharaohs, don’t miss a visit to the King Tut Museum, which is housed within the Genena City Mall. It features hundreds of replicas of Tutankhamun’s jewellery and tomb relics, as well as sculptures, gold masks and pictures depicting the pharaohs. After your visit, you can take advantage of the Genena City Mall’s ice skating rink and 7D cinema or dine at one of the global eateries.
Travelling with kids? They’ll love spending a day at Cleo Park, a family-friendly water park that is themed around Ancient Egypt. Get your thrills on one of the water slides, relax on the lazy river or enjoy a splash in the wave pool. For younger kids, there are dedicated play areas and shallow pools, as well as a cafe where you can refuel.
One of Sharm El-Sheikh’s most magnificent architectural landmarks is Al Mustafa Mosque, which is topped by two minarets that soar to 72 metres in height. Completed in 2008, the mosque features a monumental dome and intricate exterior decorations that are beautifully illuminated at night. At prayer times, the mosque is accessible to worshippers.
