Things to do in Taba
Taba Heights is a hub of activity, as it’s a huge resort complex anchored by shopping and nightlife. It's known as “Uptown” and is filled with shisha cafes, stylish restaurants and boutique retail stores.
Sitting 20 metres offshore, Pharaoh’s Island is fringed by white sand and turquoise water. It's dominated by the Castle of Salah Ad Din, an ancient stronghold built by the Crusaders in 1115. Boat trips offer the best views of the craggy island and its ancient castle.
For thrills, spills and splashes, head to Waterworld at Taba Heights. The full-service water-sports hub offers a huge selection of equipment, including windsurfing rigs, sailboats, jet skis and banana boats. You can also sign up for PADI diving courses and dive excursions to the surrounding reefs.
Cross the border into Israel and you'll find the family-friendly Coral World Underwater Observatory. It's the country's biggest aquarium and is home to over 800 species, including sharks, turtles and rays. You can also sign up for adventures, such as quad biking tours and camel safaris.
Getting around Taba
It’s easy to get around Taba Heights using taxis and the complimentary bus service that runs to hotels, shops and attractions. Local buses run to Dahab in 2.5 hours, Sharm El Sheikh in four hours and Cairo in seven hours.
