About Mykulychyn

Mykulychyn is a picturesque mountain village surrounded by soaring peaks. The village immerses you in the rugged natural beauty of the Carpathian Mountains and is a great base for outdoor adventures such as hiking, cycling and mountain biking. The trail up Makovytsia Mountain rewards hikers with sweeping views over the countryside. Just outside the village, Waterfall Probiy cascades eight metres down the rocky riverbed.

In winter, Mykulychyn transforms into a snow-dusted outdoor playground. Skiing, snow-shoeing and tobogganing are just some of the snow sports on offer. After a day on the slopes, warm up with a shot of “spotykach” blackcurrant liqueur.

Mykulychyn is famous for its local arts and crafts scene. The village is brimming with stalls and shopfronts selling handmade jewellery, ceramics, paintings and wood carvings. Local restaurants will tempt you with hearty Ukrainian cuisine, such as “borsch” beetroot soup, “varenyky” potato dumplings and “holubtsi” cabbage leaves stuffed with meat.

Getting there

Mykulychyn is compact and easy to get around on foot. The village is a 3.5-hour drive from Lviv and nine hours from Kyiv. Rental cars are the best way to explore Mykulychyn and the surrounding attractions. Lviv Airport is a three-hour drive away.
