Nestled within Fiddle Valley, the Miette Hot Springs are the hottest mineral pools in the Canadian Rockies. The hot springs are surrounded by the magnificent landscapes of Jasper National Park, offering the perfect destination to soak your weary muscles after a day hiking and wildlife watching.
Water flows directly from the mountains at a temperature of 54 degrees Celsius and is cooled to an enticing 40 degrees Celsius before entering Miette’s two hot pools. The unique mineral composition of the water is high in calcium, sulphate and magnesium, and also contains bicarbonate and sodium.
Bring a picnic lunch and soak up the spectacular Rocky Mountain views or grab a bite to eat in the Fiddle Valley Cafe. If you’re feeling energetic, take a scenic hike to the source of the hot springs along the short trail that hugs Sulphur Creek.
Getting there
The Miette Hot Springs are around one hour’s drive north of Jasper Town and a slightly shorter drive from Hinton. Edmonton International Airport is just under four hour’s drive away. Having your own vehicle is the most convenient way to explore the region.
