Surrounded by the glaciers and lakes of Adamello Brenta Nature Park, Madonna di Campiglio is a picturesque ski resort in north-east Italy. It serves as a gateway to the Brenta Dolomites mountain range, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that is renowned for its soaring peaks and via ferrata.
On the edge of the town centre is the Church of Santa Maria Antica, a granite-built landmark with a Nordic-style crucifix, a wooden Virgin Mary sculpture and beautiful stained-glass windows. It’s a short stroll from the lakeside park of Conca Verde where you can stroll in the warmer months and build snowmen in the winter.
In the colder months, you can take advantage of Madonna di Campiglio’s 150 kilometres of skiing and snowboarding runs, which are accessible by more than 50 lifts. Once the snow melts, you can explore along the Sentiero Castiglioni, a high-altitude via ferrata that offers magnificent views across the region.
