Established following the Mansfield Dam’s construction in 1942, Lake Travis is a sprawling reservoir on the Colorado River. It encompasses 7,660 hectares of crystal-clear water, making it a recreational paradise on the outskirts of Austin.
Rent a boat, kayak or stand-up paddleboard from rental stores along the shoreline to explore Lake Travis. Mingle with locals at the popular gathering point of Devil’s Cove or explore one of the secluded bays and anchoring spots for complete serenity.
Want to get your adrenalin pumping? Enjoy a bird’s-eye view of Lake Travis while zip-lining on the longest and fastest zip-line in Texas. Treat your kids to the family-friendly rides and swimming pools at Volente Beach Resort & Waterpark or picnic on the grassy lawns of Windy Point Park.
