Things to do in The Woodlands
Visitors to The Woodlands find it easy to stop at major attractions while riding the free Town Center Trolley, with stops at venues, such as Market Street, The Woodlands Mall and Waterway Square. After some shopping and lunch at the mall, you can hop aboard a water taxi to cruise along the Woodlands Waterway or rent a kayak at the Riva Road Boat House.
When the weather turns cold, you can enjoy ice skating adjacent to the mall. Across the street, you’ll find Waterway Square with espresso shops, small boutiques and a musical dancing fountain. For an outdoor shopping experience, stroll down Market Street with its high-end fashion retailers and elegant eateries.
North Shore Park is the perfect romping ground for kids with its playground, picnic tables and boat launch area. You can also fish for your dinner and use the park’s barbecue grills. Head to the George Mitchell Nature Preserve for hiking and cycling.
Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion is a premier outdoor concert venue with state-of-the-art equipment and seating. Snag some tickets for the Houston Symphony or Houston Ballet performances. For some laid-back local entertainment, combine dinner and a concert at one of two Dosey Doe venues, the Big Barn or the Music Café.
Getting around The Woodlands
Rental cars are available at George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston, about 20 minutes’ drive away. You can also pick up a rental car in The Woodlands or get around by rideshares, bike shares and taxis. A free trolley connects many major attractions.
