Located in downtown San Antonio, the Henry B. González Convention Center is the primary convention facility for the city. It has a picturesque location on the banks of the River Walk, one of the most lively and popular attractions of San Antonio. The centre hosts at least 300 events every year.
The facility spans about 150,000 square metres and includes two ballrooms, various meeting spaces and four exhibit halls. It also encompasses the Lila Cockrell Theatre, a performing arts venue that seats over 2,000 people. It sits at the West Lobby entrance, while the main lobby features a spectacular interactive “Liquid Crystal” art installation.
There are two cafes in the lobby, which serve espresso drinks and gourmet pizza from a wood-fir oven, as well as craft beer and cocktails. The LDR ballroom features patio dining for groups and special events.
Getting there
The primary lobby and entrance are just off Market Street in downtown San Antonio. There’s on-site parking or you can use shuttles, taxis, rideshare services and metro buses to reach the convention centre. San Antonio also has an extensive bike-sharing program.
