Things to do in Hatta
Housed in a historic fort, the beautifully restored Hatta Heritage Village offers a fascinating glimpse at ancient Dubai. Some of the stone houses and palm leaf huts are over 200 years old. You can also climb the defensive tower and admire traditional weapons, instruments, handicrafts, folk dress and other artefacts.
For some of the best views in Dubai, head to the Hatta Dam. The Hatta Reservoir Visitor Point offers sweeping views of the mountains and the emerald water. If you’re lucky, you might even spot an elusive Arabian sand cat prowling by the water's edge.
Hatta is an outdoor lover's paradise, with opportunities to hike, swim and birdwatch. Mountain biking is one of the most popular activities, with a network of trails maintained by the Hatta Mountain Bike Trail Centre. You can rent a bike or sign up for a guided tour.
Kayaking on Hatta Dam is another great way to soak up the scenery. You'll be able to unlock access to the hidden bays and inlets that aren't visible from the Hatta Reservoir Visitor Point.
