Visit the Cascades Raptor Centre to check out one of the largest collections of native raptor species in the Pacific Northwest. Stroll down winding hillside trails while you view nearly 50 different birds of prey in outdoor aviaries or stop by the Raptor Centre to learn about individual species.
For a day out in nature, cycle the Willamette River bike trail. Rent a bicycle from Paul’s Bicycle Way of Life and stop and admire the beach area filled with wildflowers. Keep your eyes peeled for wildlife, such as stork, geese and fish, before finishing your day with a bite to eat at the Valley River Inn.
To relax and unwind, stop by the King Estate Winery. Taste test world-class pinot gris and pinot noirs, take a tour of the vineyard and indulge in one of their fresh culinary plates, such as salmon and scallops.
Tour the Jordan Schnitzer Museum, a university art museum that contains a large collection of Asian art. Stroll through exhibits of Chinese ceramics, explore displays housing architectural fragments from Cambodia’s Khmer empire and check out more than 3,000 Edo-Period ukiyo-e.
