Located at the junction of the Lehigh and Delaware rivers, Easton serves as the seat of Pennsylvania’s Northampton County. The land was purchased from the Lenape people in 1737 and was settled by Europeans shortly after. During the American Revolutionary War, Easton served as an important military hub.

Learn about the history of the Lehigh River as you explore the museum’s hands-on exhibits before discovering how to operate a tiller.
Coincide your visit with the Easton Farmers’ Market, which takes place amidst the riverfront setting of Scott Park. Originally established in 1752, the market is the oldest, continually run open-air market in the United States. Browse the locally grown produce for sale, including organic vegetables and pasture-raised meats. Ready-to-eat meals can also be purchased for a picnic on the banks of the Delaware River.
Getting around Easton
Easton is around 25 minutes’ drive from Allentown and 20 minutes from Lehigh Valley International Airport, which has flights to destinations across the United States. Regular buses connect to Easton and travel throughout the city while the centre can easily be explored on foot.
