Tours of Speedwell Mine take you deep into an old lead mining pit, with your ticket including a boat ride along the flooded underground tunnel.

Getting there

Castleton is in Derbyshire, a 30-minute drive from Sheffield and one hour from Manchester. Trains run between Manchester and Hope in one hour. From here, it’s a five-minute drive from Castleton.
