Caesars Palace is a quintessential Las Vegas landmark, a luxurious Roman-themed hotel-casino on the west side of the Strip. With its extravagant interiors and world-famous shows, Caesar's Palace provides round the clock entertainment, its casino particularly popular with high-rolling gamblers.
Much of the Caesars Palace experience is about exploring the buildings and their opulent interiors. At the entrance, between the Bellagio and Mirage on the Strip, visitors walk past a six-metre-high statue of Julius Caesar hailing a taxi, then a nine-tonne replica of Michaelangelo's David. The Roman theme continues inside, with 18 fountains, swathes of Greco-Roman fantasy decoration, and lanes of marble columns. Caesars Forum is the hotel's first casino, dominated by an enormous crystal chandelier and targeting those seeking to place large bets. There's a full array of table games and slot machines along with a series of dedicated poker rooms.
Caesars Palace feels big enough to be a city. Julius Tower was the original building and has been recently refurbished. The 29-story Palace Tower is fitted with Corinthian columns and has a ballroom and spa. Others parts of the complex include Forum Tower, Octavius Tower, Laurel Collection Tower, and the pools that are modelled on classic Roman baths. The Forum shopping mall leads off from the main casino. Among the entertainment spaces are The Colosseum at Caesars, Caesars Magical Empire, and three nightclubs. There are over a dozen restaurants including a Savoy and a Gordon Ramsay Pub & Grill.
Almost all visitors to Caesars Palace arrive by road, either by taxi or by car. There is a large car park for guests and valet parking. The hotel-casino is linked to other main attractions on the Strip via covered air-conditioned walkways, notably to The Mirage, Fountains of Bellagio, and Flamingo Las Vegas.
As one of Las Vegas's oldest venues, Caesars Palace has played host to some of the world's most recognisable names. They include singers like Frank Sinatra and Rod Stewart, boxers like Muhammad Ali and George Foreman, wrestling stars and even a debate with Barack Obama.
