Almost a dozen sculptures dot Fritz Røed Park and pay tribute to the famous Norwegian sculptor. All are inspired by different themes, including peace, hope, joy, freedom and war. A crystalline river flows through the park and adds to the picturesque setting. Sandtangen Park is set on the banks of Lake Frøylandsvatnet and is laced with scenic walking trails.
Garborg Centre celebrates the legacies of two beloved Norwegian authors. Exhibits introduce you to Arne and Hulda Garborg, who wrote dozens of poems and novels. You can also learn about how the couple helped revive nynorsk, an ancient Norwegian folk dialect.
Bryne Mølle occupies a historic mill that’s been reimagined as a venue for concerts, art exhibitions and other cultural events. The annual Ranglerock Festival is just one of many events held at the atmospheric venue.
Bryne offers a wide selection of restaurants where you can try local dishes from Rogaland County. Enjoy sharp “gamalost” cheese, rich mutton stew and if you’re game, “smalahove” boiled sheep’s head. “Skillingsboller” cinnamon rolls are sold at most bakeries and are perfect for breakfast or an afternoon snack.

Bryne is pedestrian-friendly and easy to get around on foot. The city is located in Rogaland County, a 30-minute drive from Stavanger and 20 minutes from Stavanger Airport.
