Walk around the picturesque Old Harbour framed by colourful fishermen's houses. A larger-than-life statue of beloved Danish storyteller Hans Christian Andersen watches over the Old Harbour. Cafes overlook the water and serve “smorrebrod” open-faced sandwiches and custard-filled Danish pastries.
Relax on the sandy shores of Bogense Strand. The family-friendly beach is the ideal place to swim, sunbathe and build sandcastles. Closer to the Old Harbour is the Bogense Sea Bath, where you can jump off the wooden jetty and warm up in the public sauna.
Explore Hollufgard Castle, a beautiful Renaissance manor set in landscaped gardens. Join a guided tour to venture inside the historic castle, which dates to the 16th century. Free-roaming peacocks strut around the gardens and add to the aristocratic atmosphere.

Getting around Bogense
Bogense is compact and easy to get around on foot. Bicycles are a fun and eco-friendly way to explore the town. Bogense is on the island of Funen, 30 minutes from Odense by car or train. Copenhagen Airport is a 1.5-hour drive away.
