City Park is a green oasis in the heart of Zuglo. Tree-lined paths wind through the park and take you past picturesque lakes, bubbling fountains and grassy meadows. Vajdahunyad Castle soars over the main lake and features a magnificent façade inspired by architectural styles from throughout the centuries. Rowboat rentals are a fun way to explore the lake and enjoy uninterrupted views of the storybook castle.
See animals from around the world at the Budapest Zoo and Botanical Garden. Founded in 1866, it’s one of the oldest zoos in Europe. Embrace Hungary’s spa culture at the beautiful Szechenyi Baths. The grand, Neo Baroque complex has been welcoming visitors since 1913 and features mineral-rich pools fed by thermal springs. High concentrations of calcium, sulfate, magnesium and bicarbonate give the water therapeutic properties.
Gaze up at monuments dedicated to famous Hungarians in Heroes' Square. The public plaza is a part of a larger UNESCO World Heritage that celebrates the architectural value of the Hungarian capital. The 36-metre-tall Millennium Monument soars over the square and pays tribute to historic Hungarian leaders.
Getting around District XIV - Zugló
XIV District is pedestrian-friendly and easy to get around on foot or by bicycle. The neighbourhood is well-connected by public transportation, including local trams, buses and metro trains. Drive or take public transport to the Budapest city centre in around 20 minutes. Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport is a 40-minute drive away.
