One of the tallest buildings in Japan, the Yokohama Landmark Tower soars 296 metres over the skyline of Minato Mirai. It boasts Yokohama’s highest observation deck, the Sky Garden, on its 69th floor, as well as a variety of shops, restaurants and a 5-star hotel.
Admire the distinct flared design of the Yokohama Landmark Tower from below, then ride the ultra-fast elevator that ascends at 12.5 metres per second to reach the Sky Garden observation deck. Soak up the 360-degree views across Yokohama and its sprawling surrounds, with the snow-capped peak of Mount Fuji visible on clear days.
Grab a coffee at Sky Cafe and browse the souvenirs in the Tower Shop, then head to the adjoining Yokohama Landmark Plaza for some retail therapy. It’s packed with fashion boutiques, homewares stores and restaurants surrounding two indoor plazas, where regular music and dance performances are held.
Getting there
The Yokohama Landmark Tower is a short walk from the Sakuragicho and Minatomirai stations, which both connect to Yokohama Station. Trains make the 45-minute journey from Tokyo, while Haneda Airport is 25 minutes’ drive away.
