Yokohama Hakkeijima Sea Paradise is a multipurpose entertainment venue situated in Kanazawa-ku, Yokohama, Japan. The complex serves as an exclusive tourist attraction boasting a shopping mall, marina, aquarium and amusement rides. The mainland area is completely surrounded by water, making for a uniquely encompassing oceanic experience.
The most notable features of the amusement park include the aquarium, containing six different animal viewing zones totalling over 100,000 sea creatures on display. The amusement rides are highlighted by a roller coaster that swings out over the water and an exciting vertical drop experience. There is a merry-go-round, water chute ride and sea boat attraction. Additionally, there are dining and shopping opportunities on site, including fast food, a waterfront restaurant and marine-themed boutiques.
Access by train is provided by the Hakkeijima Station of Seaside Line as well as the Keihin Kyuko Line Kanazawa Hakkei station and JR Negishi Line Shin-Sugita station. Additionally, there are two expressways that route to the theme park and public parking areas are available.
A unique feature of this distinct location is the pay-as-you-go system. Instead of gates and admission charges, visitors pay to experience individual attractions or select from a variety of day and multi-day passes.
