Nestled within the Camonica Valley, Vezza d’Oglio is a historic town in the Italian province of Brescia. It lies atop the ancient village of Rosolina, which was destroyed by a flood, and takes its name from a barrel of oil that was found following the disaster. Due to its strategic location in the Italian Alps, Vezza d’Oglio was once an important trade and transport hub.

Vezza d’Oglio makes a convenient base for exploring Parco Dell’Adamello, a magnificent nature reserve that encompasses the snowcapped peaks of the Adamello-Presanella Alps. It’s home to Italy’s largest glacier and a diversity of wildlife that includes brown bears, alpine ibex and chamois. More than 1,000 kilometres of hiking trails wind their way through the park, connecting its rustic mountain huts and shelters.

Each of its seven routes is designed for different ages and abilities, ranging from young children to adults. Getting around Vezza d'Oglio
Vezza d’Oglio is around 2.5 hours’ drive from Bolzano and Bolzano Airport, which has flights to destinations across Europe. Milan Malpensa Airport is also 2.5 hours away. Regular buses connect to Vezza d’Oglio and the town is small enough to explore on foot.
