Winding along the beach immediately to the south of Kuta, Tuban is a relaxed base for exploring South Bali. It’s close enough to everything yet away from the main tourist and party area of Kuta, making it a popular destination for families and travellers wanting to explore eclectic attractions across South Bali and beyond.
Tuban is also known as South Kuta, and it’s hard to distinguish where one area ends and the main part of Kuta begins. However, the beach is quieter here, and many visitors prefer the relatively tranquil in comparison to the party strip of Kuta. Waterbom Park is its main attraction, a family-focused water park with plenty of shaded areas for spending the day. Tuban also allows for easy trips all over South Bali. Legian and Seminyak are very close, and it’s only a 30-minute drive to the Bukit Peninsula and the hanging temple of Uluwatu. As Tuban is on the main road from Seminyak to Jimbaran, there are many shopping malls and local markets within walking distance.
It’s only a ten-minute taxi ride from Ngurah Rai International Airport to Tuban. Although the area is out of the hustle and bustle, it’s still easy to get around on foot. Visitors can walk from the Tuban beach to Waterbom Park, as well as to the main drag of Kuta. Private taxis are usually used to visit outlying attractions across South Bali and the central highlands.
Waterbom is one of the largest water parks in Asia, and the multi-day ticket options make it easy to walk to the water park whenever the mood suits.
