Fringed by golden sand and swaying palms, Sanur Beach is one of Bali's original resorts. It features a laid-back and luxurious coastal ambience and is lined with upscale hotels and breezy beach cafes. Much of the five-kilometre-long beach is protected by a shallow reef, which creates calm, crystalline water.
Stroll along the waterfront promenade and admire colourful "jukung" fishing boats and visit Pura Blanjong Temple, which is built from coral and engraved with 10th-century carvings. Walk past the lush, landscaped grounds of high-end resorts that stretch down to the ocean.
Need to unwind? Enjoy a relaxing massage at one of the beachside parlours or rent a sun lounger and umbrella for the day. An easy stroll from the beach, Jalan Danau Tamblingan is lined with trendy cafes, bars and restaurants. You'll also find a great selection of clothing boutiques, gift stores and art galleries.
